Botched S1E1 Human Dolls Recap Review

Above is my video vlog where I rave about how much I love the show.  Below is the written blog for those who are trying to do this at work ;)

I almost didn't record the show.  I was not a fan of Paul Nassif from his time on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but I first saw him on Dr 90210.  But I am glad I did because I love the show.  It is like Dr 90210's cooler, younger brother.  It has lots of information on plastic surgery and surgery footage but I enjoy the premise even more than Dr 90210 because they focus on fixing botched surgeries which I think is even more interesting.  Paul is still a bit annoying (I will get to why later) but he is way more enjoyable than the Paul we saw on RHOBH.  I have always liked Terry and I think he is even more likable here.

The show is set up  in a very straight forward manner.  We meet the patients, hear about what has happened in the past and their current issues, they meet the surgeons for evaluation, have a surgery and then we have a big reveal.  During the episode the 3 storylines are alternated between but for the sake of the recap I will focus on one at a time.

The three patients we meet are Justin for some crazy silicon implant he designed, Alicia for a uniboob and Michelle for a nose rebuild.  I will start with Justin.  Good chance you have seen him before on the internet or My strange Addiction.  He is not going for a natural look but has had 132 surgeries to look like a Human Doll. He has designed his own silicon implants for abs, quad, calves and lats.  He hoping to convince the Doctors to insert them but Terry gently rejects the idea saying that they are not the Drs to do this surgery and they are focusing on fixing Botched Surgeries.  I am not sure they could even ethically justify doing this surgery.  Bye Justin, it was fun meeting you but no surgery for you.

But Terry does do a surgery which is for Alicia's Uniboob.  Her Huge breast implants have pulled the skin permanently off her sternum meaning that her two breast touch.  She is in constant pain and the family is in emotional turmoil.  Her husband seems really sweet and thought she was fine without the initial surgery.  The day of the surgery Terry comes in and says that after reviewing the previous Drs notes he has to change the plan.  Instead of one surgery he will need to do two.  The first one he will remove the implant, fix where the skin pulls off the sternum then he will need her body to heal.  During the second surgery he can reinsert the implants.  She is not please but he firmly and gently holds his ground and says that this is really the only option.  She agrees.  Terry has an excellent bed side manner.

In surgery we see him remove the Huge 600 cc implants and repair the damage.  Afterwards she wants to go to 500 cc and he tries to convince her that 350cc is fine.  Once again he is firm without being aggressive.  She decides on 400 cc and he outlines the risks but they go with it in the second surgery. Afterwards we see the big reveal.  Her breast are huge (which she wanted) but very lovely.

Last surgery is Paul's and we get an idea of how he differs from Terry.  Michelle had a car accident when she was younger and broke her nose.  She had a surgery to fix her nose and it, for lack of a better word, collapsed.  The nostrils were almost closed and the nose was small overall.  All together she has had 7 surgeries.  During surgery Paul removes some of her rib to get cartilage for the nose.  He also uses cartilage from the ear to rebuild the nostrils.  When she comes back for her check up she is high as a kite and worries about the nostrils but Paul rather aggressively verbally puts her in her place.  He didn't yell or anything but his tone was rather harsh. He definitely does not like his work being questioned.  We see the big review at the end and she looks great!

Loving the show!

Marriage Bootcamp : Reality Stars S3E5 Daters & Traitors Recap Review

Above is my video blog of the episode, definitely check out it and you can see my totally kitschy wall paper.  Below is my written blog which is also ok.

We pick up where we left off last week, Roger is upset with Jenni for faking it for the camera.  He pulls off his mic and storms out of the room.  Jenni talks with the counselors and they ask if she is there for the paycheck/cameras or to work on her marriage.  She admits it is a bit of both and I can respect her honesty.   One of her issues is putting for career before her relationship so her admitting it makes it feels like she is trying to work on her marriage too.  She apologizes through the door to Roger and Jim asks to talk to him.  Roger asks for no mics and after conferencing with a producer (Hey I know Adam from Twitter)  Jim goes in with no mic though we still hear stuff.  Everyone agrees to continue on with the caveat that Jenni will get kicked out for faking it.  And we are back to the Bootcamp experience.

Today they are discussing wants versus needs.
Traci need more faith in her career and Kevin needs more instruction and communication
Trista needs trust, Ryan need physical affection
Gretchen need Slade to get a better job, he needs communication
Tanisha needs him to take control, Clive needs a chance to do that
Roger needs honesty and Jenni needs affection

One big reveal was that Tanisha and Clive have been separated for 1 and 1/2 years and she says she doesn't love him.  They have been together for 8 years but when she started appearing on tv he feels like she never had time for her.  Uh oh.  If they are already separated and she doesn't love him then why are they here?  I am guessing she just wants to be on tv.

Tonight the couples are switching it up.  New couples are formed from those that have something to learn from each other and doing an activity.

Jenni and Slade will have a dance lesson
Traci and Clive will get a couples massage
Trista and Roger do acro yoga
Tanisha and Ryan make desserts

Gretchen and Kevin go to a fancy dinner except Gretchen has a prior commitment?  What!?!  If you don't know I hosted and produced a reality show in 2013 (Nock Out, now available on iTunes) and I have HUGE issues with people that sign up for a reality show, commit to the dates then (after it is too late to recast) suddenly miss filming.  Production doesn't have many options,  they could kick her off the show but the show is more important than anything.  But they can't just extend the production window and say "Oh no worries, we will just do this tomorrow"  So this really pushed my buttons.  Not only did she commit for this charity event but she expected Slade to skip out as well.  Slade said that actually he would like to stay.  Huh, I agree with him.  Maybe he isn't as bad as I have thought.

In the end they decide that Kevin will just go with Gretchen to her event.  They show clips of everyone else laughing, talking, having a great time then cut back to Kevin sitting in a limo listening to Gretchen talking about Slade, how fun for him.  As they get close to the event Gretchen hears that TMZ is there and she doesn't want to be seen with Kevin instead of Slade so she suggests that Kevin gets out in some alley down the block... at night... in LA.  Wow, she really has a heart of gold and thinks of others.  I was pretty dumbfounded by the suggestion. Even if they can't be seen together for contractual reasons she demonstrates zero concern for his safety or comfort with that suggestion.

In the end he just sits in the limo with the camera man while she gets out and poses for the TMZ cameras.  It really bothered me that she treated him like a non-person.  She didn't seem to consider that this evening was supposed to be a treat for both on them but rather that her happiness and needs were all that matters. I like to imagine that after she left, Kevin and the camera guy gossiped about how awful Gretchen was.

Everyone else seemed to have a good time.  Tanisha and Ryan were hilarious.  She was laughing, relaxed and a real joy.  She even taught him some Swagoo which was hilarious.  Clive and Traci talked about life goals.  Trista and Roger discussed being more attentive to their partner though she pulled back emotionally a little bit.  Jenni and Slade danced and discussed taking and giving control.  Overall I thought it was an amazing little exercise that everyone (but Gretchen) embraced.  Even Kevin committed that he learned that he needed to be more supportive of Traci though I have no idea how he learned anything from his limo ride.

They had their evaluations which was basically summarized above and they are told to prepare for the next exercise.  Jenni gets a text that someone sold a story, Jenni thinks it is  ----- but Roger says this is her own fault.

Who do they think did it? Who did it? What is the secret? (I assume her now not-so-secret pregnancy)

Sister Wives S5E3 S5E4 The Big Decision & Vegas Surprise Recap Review

Above is my video vlog recap review thingy which is really fun and you should totally watch , share and comment on.  But if you are like "Oh my gosh, I hate videos GAH!" then you can instead read the blog below which is still funny and you can also share and comment on.

Instead of one hour long episode they did two 30 minute episodes.  Since the second one was pretty boring I just covered them both in one recap...  Review.... blog?  What is the correct terminology for this thing I am doing where I cover the episode, tell you what happened, and made fun of the people in it?

Episode 3 opens with us discovering that the venture capitalists have made a decision about investing the $2.5 million in My Sister Wives Closet.  What did they decide?  Well, we don't find out until the end of the episode. Oh the Humanity.

Next up is the most popular sister wife, Janelle!  Her trainer has decided that Janelle should climb a rock wall which looks way easier when you on the ground than when you are actually on it.  She climbs about 4 feet off the ground and decides this was an awful idea.  Logan (her son and the oldest in the family) is there and with the trainer's help they convince her to try again.  They pick out a particular spot and she try again with touching that green rock as her goal.  Janelle nails it and the internet rejoices.  I think we relate to her struggles and have cheered her on to place more value in herself.  She has been a rock star with working out.  When all the wives (Robyn in specific) go on and on about the Family, Janelle kinda seems over it, which I love.

Meri on the other hand is off to the old family home in Lehi, Utah.  They are having it redone to sell.  So they have just been holding onto the house for years while they struggle to afford their new Vegas homes?  Is anyone confused on how they can afford all this?  TLC must pay their reality stars really well.  Hey, TLC are you interested in doing a show about a family of Californians who move to Wyoming to work on a cattle ranch?  Lots of wacky scheenagans and cute dogs?

Sorry, back to the Sister wives.  Meri visits some old friend from when she was four.  Enthralling.

Finally we get to find out what the investors decided.  First they take some talk about how awful the presentation was, how much trouble the company is having and what a poor investment this is.  But lets be honest even though no one mentions it the company, My sister Wives Closet, gets free publicity on tv so they are going to invest.  They are offering $250-500k for 5% of the company.  In 6 months they were reevaluate.  I have no idea when this was filmed but the website is still crashing all the time and the inventory seems about the same as what we saw that the presentation so I am anxious to see how the 6 months evaluation goes.

They asked about why there is 15 million hits and so few sales.  Let me tell you, because the viewers are nosy and cheap.  It is not like people are googling "Silver jewelry" and ending up at the website.  Viewers are sitting at home saying "I wonder what kind of junk they are trying to sell" so they go to the website then post on twitter "OH my goodness, that jewelry is expensive"

Ep 4 was the wives planning a surprise part for Kody to say thank you for moving them to Vegas.  One of the kids pipe up with something like We already have too many parties.  The kids are awesome.  They have a Vegas themed party with costumes and food then everyone stands around and tells Kody how awful the move was but they are glad they are here.  I wonder if they really HAD to move.  The courts did overturn the law against cohabitation so Kody would not have been arrested after all. It was a pretty boring episode unless you are really into hearing everyone talk about how awesome Kody is.

Marriage Bootcamp : Reality Stars S3E4 Tip Your Bartender Recap Review

Above is my amazing, life changing (please watch it) video blog about the episode.  But I also wrote the recap review blog below.

The morning starts with all the couples waking up and emerging from their bed cocoons except for Slade who is so depressed from the exercise that he refuses to get up.  Every time Slade talks on camera I am overwhelmed by how fake it feels.  Like watching a badly acted play.  They have a one on one with the counselors and both talked in circles.  Slade keeps mentioning: I can't give you want,  I want you to be happy, Find someone else.  She needs to take his advice and move on.

The first exercise of the day is Tocix Reality where the castmates get to pick which 3 of the ten of them should be saved in the event of a gas world war event or something. It doesn't really matter the scenario, really it is just about telling people their faults.  Since each person has to address every other person that means there was 81 interactions and probably lasted for hours.    Traci goes down the line sniffling and we see all her picks (Ryan, Kevin and herself) but after that the editors only hit the highlights which is mostly the negatives.  Gretchen does not bother to give herself a gas mask and when asked she claims it was because she wants others to be happy but Jim calls her out on "Stop trying to make yourself look good" Big round of applause for Jim.

Tanisha is told by her castmates that she has a chip on her shouldar, emotional, not very sure of herself.

Roger is told that he is stubborn, selfish and should be more supportive.

Jenni is told that she is selfish and that she doesn't need to broadcast everything she does. She gets a bit snarky back at Tanisha but Jim tells her that she is just supposed to listen.

Kevin gets nailed for his infidelity but Ryan gives him a gas mask saying that he has a rare combination of Wisdom and Compassion. I thought that was a really sweet comment but Kevin didn't seem to even remember it later in the interview.

Gretchen is seen as selfish and struggling with the truth (which later clarification means that she is unwilling to accept the truth in front of her)

Ryan is seen by a lot of people as caring, nice and worthy of living.  I think the fact that he is a fire fighter and has actual life saving skills helped.

But the highlight of the whole thing was when Clive told Slade that he was hiding something.  Ding ding ding, we have a winner!

Now the whole group broke into two groups (each couple was separated) to talk about an event from their past that still affects them.  This was a heavy time and we got some real insight into where some of these issues come from.  Slade's parents divorce, Gretchen was never good enough, Kevin's dad was in jail and Ryan's old girlfriend was caught in bed with another guy.  Trista had a friend that tried to kill herself in Trista's bathroom using her razor and now she feels responsible for everyone's happiness.  Roger had a friend that committed suicide. Then Jenni shared her story about getting fired from a job as a kid which everyone demeaned as a bit underwhelming and unemotional.

When they get out of the exercise Roger is really upset to hear that Jenni didn't share any of the stories from her childhood.  He feels that she is just phoning this in to get a pay check.

We head into final evaulations. Trista/Ryan - they are lacking intimacy from trying to be too nice
Clive/Tanisha - Clive is perceptive about people ;  Traci/Kevin - they have allowed their resentment to build up  ; Slade/Gretchen -  Gretchen is a successful woman and codependent

Jenni and Roger get pulled into a one and one.  Roger is still mad and says he is there for their future marriage if she is not then he might as well go home.  He pulls off and mic and storms out.  END OF EPISODE!!

Will he stay? Will he go?

Ladies of London S1E4 Mad as a Hatter Recap Review

Above is my awesome video recap, below is a short written recap

We are discussing the fight between Juliet and Annabelle at the Fourth of July party.  Juliet is saying in a Talking Head interview that she is not sorry for what she said but that she is sorry how it escalated.

Caroline and Annabelle talk about it as well.  Oh how gauche that Juliet was yelling in the street and Caroline is upset that Caprice got in the middle of it.  BTW Annabelle has that fashion show coming up.  Noelle and Marissa will be there but Caroline and Caprice are busy. Juliet is not inviting. No shock there.

Caprice mentions that she is going to LA for 3 months.  She will pick up her son from the surrogacy, then give birth to the son she carried, recover then return to England.  But in the here and now, she can't get a hold of Annabelle.

Juliet talks with her husband who supports her but also points out that she  might have gone over the top in her reaction.  My husband has had the exact same conversation with me many times.  Caroline calls at the same time and is a bit more brisk.  She asks WHY  Juliet would be yelling in the street and tells her to apologize to Annabelle.

Juliet throws a hat party.  It seems that everyone thinks they are too good for hats except for Marissa and Juliet.  Why so much hat hate? I look great in a hat and have no excuse to wear one.  Next time they should just invite me.  I would be a fabulous houseguest and would even show up with flowers like Marissa did.  Caprice brings her American friend named Julie who grew up in Chicago like Juliet.  Juliet and Julie discuss their mutual love of Target.  Me too!! See, I totally fit in with these ladies.   Caprice mentions again that she is upset that Caroline wasn't more upset that Juliet and Annabelle fought. Oh and Noelle wants to be more like Caprice.  Caprice is rich, famous and lovely, ya I want to be like Caprice too.

Noelle and Scot are discussing their new place.  We hear more about how broke he is and his ongoing court battle of 4 years.  How can he afford to keep a lawyer?  Where did the money go?  Who will pay for their new place? Something is sooooo shady.

Annabelle is helping to run Conchita's Fashion show in a tunnel.  The tunnel is leaking and dripping but the show is amazing.  The jackets are fierce and I will take one of each, please.  Why don't I get to go to Fashion shows?

Caprice and Caroline are meeting up at a baby store.  Caprice wants to know why Caroline didn't defend Annabelle.  Caroline wants to know why Caprice thinks it is any of her business.  Apparently Caroline offered to host a baby shower at her gorgeous house 45 minutes outside of London.  Caprice says in an interview that she now sees what kind of friend Caroline is and tells Caroline that she would prefer to have the party at a restaurant in the city.  Everyones heckles are raised.  I am sure we will hear more about this in the future.

Noelle and Scot are talking about moving.  All week in commercials we see Scot saying "That's it Noelle we are done"  in the actually episode we see him say "That's it Noelle we are done talking about this, we move in Monday"  Big round of applause for the editors that made this interchange look way more interesting than it really was.

Everyone except Annabelle (including friend-to-the-ladies Julie) meet at Marissa's to take a limo to the Sandown Races.  Caprice and Juliet fight on the way to the race which was super comfortable to everyone else in the limo.  Btw, this is the first limo I have seen since the 90s that wasn't a converted SUV.  Juliet and Caprice hug once they get to the race and agree to move on (ha!)

The race is uneventful until Julie shares that she is in line to be the Countess of Sandwich and would everyone like to go to her family estate in the country?  ME ME ME, I would.

Next week, the ladies go to the country for Trap shooting, venison and offending their hosts.

Real Housewives of Orange County Ep 10 Skunk in the Barnyard recap / review

Above is my video recap and below is a short written recap.

There are a couple of story lines this episode.  Vickie and Brooks went to Mexico to her Condo.  We get the joy of hearing Vickie talk about Sex and we get to see pixeled nudity of both of them during a couples massage.  TADA!  Shannon and David are scheduled to come join then but that won't happen until next episode.

Tamra even has a mini storyline.  For some reason she decided they (herself and Eddie) need a mechanical baby despite the fact that she has raised 4 children already.  Now I know why housewives go broke, they buy needless junk to stay in front of the camera.

But let's get to the main storyline. The episode opens with the Shannon at Tamra's house. Shannon is very upset about David's email.  While she is sniffing her phone beeps and she is sure it is just her kids goofing off.  Instead it was David (her husband) saying that he heard that Heather knows about the email and was gossiping about it with friends.  Tamra immediately says that she has not said a thing to Heather and Shannon believes her completely.

While this is happening David comes home and apologizes.  We see them the next day where Shannon takes cheap shots of him in front of their kids and he responds in kind.  It is awful to watch.  I want to shake them both and tell them to let some of this stuff go.

Shannon has given it some thought and she is sure that Tamra said something to Heather about the email but she feels like she needs confirmation from Heather.  They have not seen each other since Christmas Eve where Shannon and Heather got into a huge fight.  Shannon shows up at Heather's house to ask (grill) her about where Heather heard about the email.  Heather thinks Shannon is there to apologize.  Let's just say that things go progressively downhill  until Heather asks Shannon to leave because her kids are in the house and she doesn't want to fight in front of them.  Shannon says that these rumors are hurting her kids.

Can we address the fact that Shannon is on a reality show but it so concerned about her kids hearing rumors when she fights in front of them all the time and soon after this was filmed the footage was internationally aired?  I really think that RHOC was a horrible idea for Shannon.

Shannon has a holistic essence oil lady over to hang out with Lizzie and Danielle.  We didn't hear much about oils but we did hear more about Heather.  Shannon retells the story and somehow it transforms into Heather calling her an alcoholic rather than Heather repeating what Tamra told her.  Lizzie and Danielle seem skeptical of the story, that there must be more than was told.  Danielle makes a joke about drinking vodka and Shannon calls her judgmental. Shannon is just winning friends left and right.  Lizzie summarizes the situation well by saying in an interview that Shannon is so hurt that she is lashing out.

Heather and Terry meet up with Lizzie where they discuss the fight.  Heather says that she did text Shannon after the fight that she was sorry that Shannon is hurting but that her problem is not with Heather.  Shannon meets up with Tamra and Tamra admits she lied.  She did talk to Heather but only to tell Heather to back off Shannon because Shannon is having a tough time.  Turns out that Whatever Heather knew was pretty vague.  She knew Shannon was upset about an email that David sent her and that they are fighting.  I am pretty sure Heather already knew about the fighting given that they are fighting all the time.

Thoughts?

The Little Couple, Season 6 Recaps/Reviews

Season 6 of The Little Couple is over.  It had 16 episodes and episodes varied between 30 minutes and an hour.  Above is the video of my recap/review for the season finale.  If you would like to see recaps of the whole season you can use this playlist    Little Couple Season 6 recaps

This season covered Zoey's adoption, Jen's cancer diagnosis, treatment and followup and a lot of family firsts!  The season wavered between sad and joyful; lots of tears and smiles.

They are now a family of 4 and we saw their first Christmas and Easter and finished up the season with a renewal of vows.
